ST. JOSEPH, Minn. - The UW-River Falls women's lacrosse team closed out its 2024 regular season schedule with a 16-11 win at the College of Saint Benedict Monday afternoon.
The Falcons wrap up the regular season with a 12-5 overall record and will host the WIAC Tournament this weekend, May 3-4 at Ramer Field. UWRF, the No. 2 seed, is slated to face No. 3 seed UW-La Crosse at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
Brooke Glumack led the Falcons with five points off three goals and two assists while
Holly Eckers had a season-high four goals.
Samantha Hayek,
Emma Heerey,
Grace Hannula, and
Bailey O'Donovan followed with two goals each.
In the fourth quarter,
Samantha Hayek assisted on a Heerey goal for her second point of the game, reaching 83 points to break a UWRF single-season record for total points. She surpassed Emma Kohlbeck's total of 82 during the 2022 season.
With the score knotted at 7-7 at the intermission, the Falcons held the home team to four goals in the second half, scoring six in the final 15 minutes to seal the win.
UWRF outshot CSB 49-27, led 20-9 in draw controls, and tallied a season-high 21 caused turnovers.
Kayden Hersback tallied double-digit saves for the second time this season with 10, receiving her eighth win of the year.
