The UW-River Falls men's hockey continues postseason play this weekend as the No. 4 seeded Falcons are set to travel to face No. 1 seed and nationally ranked UW-Superior Feb. 28-March 1 in the WIAC Tournament Semifinals.

2025 WIAC TOURNAMENT
- UWRF finished with 26Â points in the WIAC standings with an 8-6-1 league record, receiving the No. 4 seed for the postseason tournament.
- Since the inception of the WIAC Commissioner's Cup in 2014, the Falcons hold a 10-18-3Â playoff record.
- Last season, UWRF swept UW-Superior with 3-2 and 1-0 wins in the first round, but fell at UW-Stevens Point in the semifinals.
- UWRFÂ won the Commissioner's Cup in 2015, advancing to the championship game with wins over UW-Eau Claire in the semifinals, and defeating UW-Stevens Point 3-1 in the title game.
AGAINST THE YELLOWJACKETS
- This weekend's games will mark the 171-172nd all-time meetings between UW-River Falls and UW-Superior, with the Falcons leading the series 82-71-18.
- UW-Superior won two of three regular season matchups against the Falcons, while UWRF and UWS skated to a 2-2 draw and Falcon shootout win on Jan. 24.
- In WIAC Tournament history, the Falcons and Yellowjackets have faced each other six times, with UWRF leading the series 3-2-1.
FALCON NOTES
- The Falcons are coming off a WIAC Tournament first round sweep over UW-Stout, defeating the Blue Devils 4-1 and 4-0 at Hunt Arena.
- Through two games, Dylan Smith scored three goals and Brennan Boynton allowed just one goal, including a career-high 36-save shutout on Saturday.
- UWRF has scored power play goals in six of the last seven games, including a pair during game two against UW-Stout on Saturday. The .234 power-play percentage ranks second in the WIAC.
- The Falcons have scored power play goals in five consecutive games and finished the regular season with the second-best power play in the WIAC, scoring 16 goals on the man advantage with a 22.9% success rate.Â
- The duo of Jonny Meiers and Dylan Smith combined for eight points last weekend against UW-Stout, and rank among the top-five scorers in the WIAC. Meiers and Smith both have 15 goals, tied for second most in the league.
- Cole Teleki is the top scoring defenseman in the WIAC with 17 points off six goals and 11 assists. In addition, he leads the league with 64 blocked shots - including 11 against UW-Stout over the weekend.
- Goaltender Brennan Boynton has started in all 27 games, leading the WIAC with 25.3 saves per game while his .914 save percentage is second best.
