Falcons set for weekend road trip to Lake Forest and Carroll

The UW-River Falls women's lacrosse team is back in action this weekend, traveling for non-conference road matchups at Lake Forest and Carroll.

The Falcons enter the weekend 1-0 on the season, after defeating Cornell College 22-1 on March 1.

FALCON NOTES

  • In UWRF's 22-1 win over Cornell College, the Falcons held a 33-4 advantage in shots on goal and held a 20-5 advantage in draw controls.
    • Samantha Hayek led UWRF with nine points, off six goals and three assists. She totaled 11 shots on goal and 16 total shots.
    • Julia Hayek led the way defensively with four caused turnovers.
    • Murphi Specht totaled five goals, seven draw controls, six ground balls, and one caused turnover.
  • Following Juila Hayek's strong performance in the team's season opener, the sophomore was named WIAC Women's Lacrosse Defensive Athlete of the Week. 
  • The Falcons are 2-0 all time against Lake Forest and 1-3 all time against Carroll.
