THE SERIES
- This weekend's games mark the 175-176th all-time meeting between UW-River Falls and UW-Superior, with the Falcons leading the series 84-72-18.
- Earlier this season, the Falcons defeated the Yellowjackets 4-3 in Superior. UWRF scored a season-high three power play goals, and an empty-net goal by Gavin Middendorf sealed the win.
FALCON NOTES
- UWRF is coming off a 6-4 win over Saint Mary's last Saturday at Hunt Arena, led by a hat-trick from Jonny Meiers, the second of his career.
- The power play has continued to be a strength for UWRF, scoring a total of 13 power play goals with a WIAC-best 25.5% success rate.
- Freshman forward Keenan Ingram is the WIAC leader with six power play goals and is the top scorer in the league with 23 points off 13 goals and 10 assists.
- Along with Ingram, the Falcon freshman class has made an impact on this year's team, with Gavin Middendorf sharing the WIAC-lead with three game-winning goals and Luke Margenau leading the league with 48 blocked shots.
- The trio of Ingram, Middendorf, and Ben Portner have combined for 40% of UWRF's scoring.Â
- Among other WIAC leaders, sophomore forward Alex Atwill leads the WIAC with 14 assists and senior Max Collette is the league leader with 204 faceoff wins.
- Senior goaltender Brennan Boynton has started in all but one game this season, and leads the WIAC with a .921 save percentage and 27.7 saves per game.
