THE SERIES
- This weekend's games will mark the 166-167th all-time meetings between UW-River Falls and UW-Stevens Point, with the Pointers leading the series 79-73-13.
- Last season, the Falcons won two of three over the Pointers. UWRF won the season series opener 5-1 at Hunt Arena before a weekend split in Stevens Point last February. UWRF won the Friday game 3-2 before UWSP responded with a 6-2 win.
FALCON NOTES
- Last weekend, the Falcons put together their most well-rounded performance of the WIAC schedule thus far, sweeping UW-Superior - who received votes in last week's national polls.
- UWRF won by scores of 5-3 and 3-2 at Hunt Arena, led by six different goal scorers, including two-goal efforts by both Keenan Ingram and Ben Portner. Ingram scored twice on Saturday, including the overtime game-winner. Brennan Boynton started both games in net and made 60 saves with a .923 percentage.
- The Falcons scored power play goals in both games against UW-Superior over the weekend and continue to lead the WIAC with a 26.8 power play percentage. Adversely, UWRF ranks sixth in the league with an 80 percent penalty kill.
- Freshman forward Keenan Ingram is tied for the NCAA Division III and WIAC lead with six power play goals and is the conference's leading scorer with 25 points off 15 goals (2nd/NCAA) and 10 assists.
- Along with Ingram, the Falcon freshman class has made an impact on this year's team. Forwards Ben Portner and Gavin Middendorf also rank among the top-six scorers in the WIAC, and Luke Margenau is the league-leader with 54 blocked shots, 12 more than the next-closest player.
- Among other WIAC leaders, sophomore forward Alex Atwill leads the WIAC with 16 assists and senior Max Collette is the league leader with 228 faceoff wins.
- Senior goaltender Brennan Boynton has started in all but one game this season, and leads the WIAC with a .921 save percentage and 27.9 saves per game.
