Falcon Lacrosse travels to face No. 21-ranked University of Chicago

The UW-River Falls women's lacrosse team is set for its second game of the 2026 season, traveling to face No. 21-ranked University of Chicago on Saturday afternoon.

THE SERIES
  • The Falcons and Maroons have faced each other twice in the two programs' histories, with Chicago leading the series 2-0.
  • UWRF last met the then-ranked No. 22 Maroons in 2024.
FALCON NOTES
  • The Falcons are coming off a 15-10 loss in the 2026 season opener on Sunday, Feb. 14 versus Sewanee in Eau Claire, Wis.
    • UWRF battled back from an early deficit and tied the game at 10-10 entering the fourth quarter, but Sewanee closed on a 5-0 run to earn the win.
    • UWRF was led by Samantha Hayek's four goals and one assist, including two free-position scores. Brooke Glumack added three goals and three assists, while Natasha Berthiaume scored twice and Avery Watzke added one.
    • For her performance, Samantha Hayek was named the WIAC Women's Lacrosse Athlete of the Week.
  • Head coach Talia Hayes is in her fifth season at the helm after guiding the Falcons to their fourth straight 12+ win season.
