MADISON, Wis. — The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) released its Kwik Trip Athletes of the Week for the week of Feb. 16-22, with
Megan Goodreau representing UW-River Falls as the Women's Hockey Athlete of the Week.
Goodreau and the No. 1-ranked Falcons defeated No. 9-ranked UW-Eau Claire 6-3 on Saturday, Feb. 21 in Eau Claire to clinch the WIAC regular season title, the program's sixth in a row and 12th overall. During the win, Goodreau tallied three points with a goal and two assists, passing Callie Hoff to become the UWRF women's hockey all-time leading scorer with 198 career points. Hoff, the 2022 Laura Hurd National Player of the Year, totaled 197 points from 2017-22.
The award Goodreau's third this season and the sixth of her career. It also marks UWRF's eighth WIAC Player of the Week award winner this season, following
Megan Goodreau (Nov. 3-9, Feb. 9-15),
Sophia Hess (Nov. 24-30),
MaKenna Aure (Dec. 8-14, Dec. 29-Jan. 4, Feb. 2-8),
Alexa Niccum (Jan. 5-11), and

No. 1-ranked UWRF (24-1, 11-1 WIAC) opens postseason play this weekend at Hunt Arena, hosting UW-Superior in the WIAC O'Brien Cup Tournament Semifinals.
