The UW-River Falls women's lacrosse team returns to Ramer Field for its 2026 home opener on Friday, Feb. 27 at 7 p.m., hosting Cornell College in nonconference action.
Both programs enter the matchup looking for their first win of the season. The Falcons sit at 0-2 after opening the year against Sewanee and the University of Chicago. Friday marks the first home contest of the season for UWRF, and the start of a key early season stretch in front of a home crowd.

THE SERIES
UW-River Falls holds a 2-0 advantage in the all-time series against Cornell College.
The Falcons won the first-ever meeting between the two programs, 16-7, on March 10, 2024, before earning an impressive 22-1 victory on March 1, 2025. In the two matchups combined, UWRF has outscored the Rams 38-8, averaging 19 goals per contest.
FALCON NOTES
Through two games, the Falcons are averaging nine goals per game and have scored 18 goals on 37 shots for a .486 shooting percentage. UWRF has collected 48 ground balls and 18 draw controls while converting five of 10 free-position opportunities.
Brooke Glumack leads the team with nine points on five goals and four assists, while
Samantha Hayek has tallied a team-best six goals to go along with two assists.
Natasha Berthiaume has added three goals,
Macy Patton and
Avery Watzke have each contributed two scores.
Freshman
Anna Plath has made an immediate impact in the draw circle with a team-high seven draw controls, and goalkeeper
Annelise Rommeck has recorded 22 saves and eight ground balls in 120 minutes of action.
Defensively,
Cassie Johnson leads the Falcons with four caused turnovers this season.
