Box Score WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – The UW-River Falls softball team saw its scheduled doubleheader shortened Monday afternoon at THE Spring Games, falling to Bowdoin 7-4 in a game called after five innings due to nearby lightning and rain. The Falcons' second game of the day against Hartwick has been postponed, with a makeup date to be determined.
Bowdoin struck first in the opening inning, however the Falcons answered quickly. After
Addison Eaton reached base, UWRF capitalized on a Bowdoin error to tie the game at 1-1 in the bottom of the first. The Polar Bears pulled ahead in the second inning with two runs and then broke the game open in the third, scoring four runs to build a 7-2 lead.
Alexa Dusterhoft drove in a run in the second inning, and
Kayla Dolan added a two-RBI performance at the plate, including a run-scoring single in the fifth.
Caitlyn Kressel led UW-River Falls with two hits, while Dolan, Eaton, Dusterhoft, and
Ella Stuber each recorded a hit as the Falcons finished with six hits in the contest.

Hailey Kincaid made the start for the Falcons, tossing all five innings and striking out six batters. Bowdoin's Maddie Current earned the win after allowing four runs (three earned) across five innings of work.
The Falcons were scheduled to face Hartwick later in the afternoon, but the matchup was postponed due to the weather. Information regarding a potential reschedule will be announced when it becomes available.
