Falcons Set for WIAC Doubleheader Week

The Falcon softball team returns to conference play this week with a pair of doubleheaders, beginning Wednesday at home against UW-Eau Claire at Faye Perkins Softball Stadium before traveling to UW-Oshkosh on Saturday. As conference play ramps up, the Falcons will face two familiar opponents in a critical stretch of the season and look to get a few back in the win column as post-season approaches.

THE SERIES

UW-River Falls has historically struggled against UW-Eau Claire, holding an 8-24-1 record dating back to 2010. The Falcons have dropped the last 11 meetings, including a pair of losses in 2025. 

The Falcons are 7-23 against UW-Oshkosh since 2010 but enter the weekend with some momentum after walking away with a 4-3 home win in their most recent matchup last season. 

FALCON NOTES
  • Caitlyn Kressel has been the Falcons' most consistent bat, leading the team with a .389 average while totaling 28 hits, 17 RBI, and a .569 slugging percentage. She has also been flawless defensively with a 1.000 fielding percentage. 
  • Addison Eaton is hitting .321 with a team-high 21 RBI and 11 stolen bases in 11 attempts. Her team-leading six doubles and two home runs highlight her extra-base ability at the plate. Lacie Lilyquist continues to be a key run producer, batting .303 with 17 RBI and eight walks.
  • Ella Stuber leads the Falcons with 16 stolen bases on 16 attempts. As a team, the Falcons are 65-of-74 on stolen base attempts.
  • Lucy Knutson has been one of the Falcons' most effective arms, posting a 3.54 ERA with 24 strikeouts in 29.2 innings while limiting opponents to a .317 average. 
  • Hailey Kincaid leads the staff in innings pitched (46.1) and has brought home three wins, while also throwing three complete games and recording 27 strikeouts.
