Hayek & Plath Sweep WIAC AOTW Honors

MADISON, Wis. - The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) released its Kwik Trip Athletes of the Week for April 6-12, with senior attacker Samantha Hayek & freshman defender Anna Plath representing UW-River Falls as the Women's Lacrosse Offensive & Defensive Athlete of the Week.

Senior attacker Samantha Hayek led the offensive charge in a historic week, becoming the program's all-time leading goal scorer with her 156th career goal, surpassing Emma Kohlbeck's previous record of 152. Hayek also reached another milestone earlier in the week, eclipsing 100 career assists. She powered the Falcons to a 2-0 week in WIAC play, totaling 15 points on nine goals and six assists while placing 16 of her 20 shots on goal for an impressive .800 shot-on-goal percentage.

On the defensive end, freshman midfielder Anna Plath anchored a dominant Falcon unit, limiting opponents to just 10 total goals across two victories. Plath padded the stat sheet with 10 ground balls, nine draw controls, and four caused turnovers, while also contributing two goals of her own.

With the sweep, UW-River Falls continues to showcase their offensive and defensive skill in conference play, led by record-breaking performances and a relentless defensive presence.
