Falcons Close Out Regular Season at UW-Stevens Point

The Falcon women's lacrosse team will wrap up both their WIAC and regular season slate this week with a road matchup versus UW-Stevens Point. The Falcons enter the finale at 13-3 overall and 6-1 in conference play, looking to bounce back after an OT loss this past weekend and finish strong heading into postseason.

UW-River Falls has controlled the all-time series against the Pointers, holding a perfect 2-0 record since the program's first met in 2024.

The Falcons have been dominant in both matchups, winning 20-8 in the inaugural meeting and following it up with a 20-3 victory last season in River Falls. In last season's win, Samantha Hayek recorded six goals, and Brooke Glumack facilitated the game with four assists. River Falls has averaged 20 goals per game while allowing just 5.5 Pointer goals. 

FALCON NOTES
  •  River Falls enters the week averaging 16.9 goals per game while allowing just 7.25. The Falcons have outshot teams 598-287 this season and hold advantages in ground balls (437-313), draw controls (222-190), and caused turnovers (213-133).
  • The Falcon offense is led by Samantha Hayek, who has totaled 98 points on 61 goals and 37 assists this season. Hayek currently sits in 10th place in the country for points per game (6.27). Elizabeth Clough (49 goals) and Avery Watzke (40 goals) have provided scoring firepower, giving River Falls multiple high-level attacking threats. 
  • Midfield play has been a major strength, with Morgan Leick leading the team with 51 draw controls while adding 17 ground balls. Anna Plath has contributed 46 draw controls of her own and 23 total ground balls this season. Murphi Specht, back from injury, has added a strong two-way presence with 20 goals and 21 draw controls in limited action. 
  • Defensively, the Falcons have forced 213 turnovers on the year and have been anchored in goal by Annelise Rommeck, who has logged the majority of minutes, holding 12 wins on the season. 
  • River Falls has been strong away from home, posting a 6-1 record in road contests this season.
