Women's Tennis takes sixth at WIAC Championship

MADISON, Wis. - The UW-River Falls women's tennis team concluded its fall season at the 2021 WIAC Championship Oct. 23-24 at Nielsen Tennis Stadium, finishing in sixth place with six team points.

UW-Whitewater won its 15th consecutive team title with 21 points. The team title is determined by using a combination of the regular-season dual-meet standings and the WIAC championship results.

The Falcons, who went 1-5 during the WIAC dual-meet schedule to collect two points, also earned four championship points.

After falling in the first round of No. 3 singles, Emma Heinert bounced back in the consolation bracket with wins over Nolde of UW-Oshkosh (6-0, 6-4) and Becker of UW-Stevens Point (6-4, 7-5) to earn fifth place in her respective flight.

UWRF also garnered several six place finishes from Chloe Struss at No. 4 singles, Karyn Duddeck at No. 6 singles, and the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles teams of Heinert/Erin Gallion and Abbie Reed/Macy Ragsdale.
