FALCON HEIGHTS, Minn. - The UW-River Falls men's cross country team faced tough competition on Friday afternoon at the 35th Annual University of Minnesota Roy Griak Invitational at Les Bolstad Cross Country Course.
The Falcons placed 28th of 29 teams during the eight-kilometer race, tallying 832 points among Division II and Division III schools. Wayne State (MI) won the team crown with 58 points, placing three runners inside the top 10.
Eric Ottosen (So., Wausau, Wis.) finished first for the Falcons with a time of 28:29.1 to place 124th of 374 participants.
Adam Jacobi,
Sawyer McCalla, and
Sam Peters each broke 30 minutes to finish second through fourth, respectively, for UWRF.
James Heeg,
Tristan Smith, and
Joe Lezotte followed as part of the Falcons' top-seven runners.

The Falcons return to action on Friday, Oct. 1, competing the the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Invite. The race is scheduled for a 4:15 p.m. start at Whitetail Golf Course.
