CLERMONT, Fla. - The UW-River Falls softball team opened its Florida spring break trip Saturday, March 12, with a 3-2 win over the University of Southern Maine.
Originally scheduled to face Dominican and New Paltz, those games were postponed indefinitely due to weather. The Falcons then picked up a game versus the Huskies, playing at 9 p.m. Saturday evening.Â

Juliana Reynolds guided the Falcons to a 3-2 win, tying a career-high with 12 strikeouts during her complete-game seven-inning victory. With the game tied at 2-2 heading to the bottom of the seventh, UWRF walked off with a
Keegan Piton RBI single to scored
Sammie Harms for the game-winning run.
The Falcons took a pair of leads earlier in the game, scoring in the third off a Huskie error, and another RBI single from Piton in the fifth.
Hannah Richards was 3-for-3 at the plate with a pair of doubles and runs scored.
UWRF, now 4-3 overall, returns to action today with games against Farmingdale State and Curry College.
