CLERMONT, Fla. - The UW-River Falls softball team earned its fifth and sixth consecutive wins on the season, defeating Farmingdale State and Curry College on Sunday during the second day of its Florida spring trip.
UWRF, now 6-3 overall, has another pair of games tomorrow, facing Smith College and St. Norbert College.
UW-River Falls 10, Farmingdale State 2 (5 inn.)
During Sunday's opening game, the Falcons used a nine-run first inning to coast to victory.
UWRF totaled nine runs off nine hits in the first inning, with runs batted in by

Lindsey Duggan and
Maggie Wallin led the Falcons in the pitcher's circle. Duggan earned the win after 2.1 innings pitched, and was followed by 2.2 scoreless innings pitched from Wallin.
UW-River Falls 4, Curry 3 (8 inn.)
Down 3-0 through four innings, the Falcons rallied with a three-run fifth inning and won the game off a
Keegan Piton walk-off RBI single in the eighth inning. Piton also recorded the game-winning walk-off RBI during last night's 3-2 win over Southern Maine.
In the fifth, Breyen got the scoring started with an RBI single that scored Harms. Piton followed with a two-RBI single to score Breyen and
Kelly Aultman.
The score stayed locked at 3-3 through the seventh, forcing extra innings.
Breyen was placed on second due to an extra-inning rule, and it didn't take long for UWRF to capitalize. Piton singled up the middle to bring Breyen home for the win.
Corinne Roe started in the pitcher's circle, and lasted four innings while allowing two earned runs.
Juliana Reynolds pitched the final four scoreless innings while collecting five strikeouts and improving her record to 3-2 on the season.
