WEST SALEM, Wis. — The UW-River Falls cross country program concluded its regular season with a productive showing at the Jim Drews/Tori Neubauer Invite at UW-La Crosse on Saturday, Oct. 19.

The UWRF men's team placed eighth out of 20 teams, scoring 241 points. On the women's side, the Falcons placed ninth with 230 points. 

In the women's 6K, freshman Adison Wilde led the way with a time of 23:42.3 to place 36th overall. Sophomore Laina Viere was UWRF's next finisher, clocking in at 24:01.2 to place 45th. Peyton Opsahl came close to a personal best, placing 57th with a time of 24:12.1. 

Emma Karnitz (82nd/24:57.1), Jaidyn McAlpine (87th/25:02.4), Amber Lawrence (126th/25:54.1), and Cailyn Kuechle (136th/26:13.2) wrapped up the top seven for the Falcons. The finish by Kuechle is a season best.

Logan Munson led the way for UWRF in the men's 8k, placing 27th with a time of 26.04.4. Munson's time is a new career best. Wyatt Johnson was the Falcons' next finisher, placing 64th with a career-best time of 26:49.5. Jack Richter was just behind in 68th, with a career-best mark of 27:00.7.

Ryan Pierson (72nd/27:06.2) set a new personal best, while Myles Rasmussen (123rd/28:12.3), Jordan Opsahl (132nd/28:22.8), and Sage Durdle (140th/28:28.1) rounded out UWRF's top seven. Rasmussen's time marked a new personal best.

Next up, the UWRF cross country team will gear up for the WIAC Championships, which are held in Stevens Point, Wis. on Nov. 2. The championships are set to begin at 12 p.m.
