OSHKOSH, Wis. – The UW-River Falls men's and women's cross-country team delivered solid performances at the UW-Oshkosh Titan Fall Classic on Friday, Sept. 19, at XC Ranch, building on their season-opening efforts from the River Town Invitational.
The Falcons faced a deep field of WIAC and regional competitors, with the women's 6k leading off the evening followed by the men's 8k.
On the women's side, the Falcons scored 105 points to place fifth among six teams. UW-Stevens Point claimed the team title with 56 points followed by Ripon (70), and UWO Alumni finishing in third (80).
Sophomore
Adison Wilde led UWRF for the second consecutive meet, finishing seventh overall among 73 runners with a time of 22.42.7. Wilde's sub-23-minute time earns her another spot in UWRF's Top 20 Times, now holding the 12
th and 15
th spot all-time.
Laina Viere followed in 16
th place at 23:34.4, shaving nearly 50 seconds from her River Town Invite time.
In the men's 8k, UWRF tallied 89 points for fourth place among six teams. UW-Oshkosh lead the pack with a first-place finish of 30 points, followed by UW-Stevens Points at 48.
Senior
Logan Munson paced the Falcons, finishing 12
th overall with a time of 25:59.8, another Falcon Top 20 Time. Munson now holds the 6
th spot and shares the 19
th spot in Top 20 finishes.
Ryan Pierson and
Jack Richter followed closely behind, finishing 16
th (26:08.2) and 17
th (26:08.3) respectively.
