Lavergne Inducted into North American Indigenous Athletics Hall of Fame

RED LAKE, Minn. — UW-River Falls women's hockey senior Madison Lavergne has been inducted into the North American Indigenous Athletics Hall of Fame (NAIAHF) as a member of the 2026 Class.

Lavergne, a native of Warroad, Minn., and of Métis descent, has appeared in more than 100 career games as a Falcon and played a key role in leading UWRF to back-to-back NCAA Division III national championships in 2024 and 2025.

A three-time WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll selection and two-time WIAC Player of the Week, Lavergne has totaled 78 career points, including 36 goals and 42 assists. She earned a spot on the 2024 NCAA Championship All-Tournament Team and scored the game-winning goal against Gustavus Adolphus College in the NCAA Tournament quarterfinals.

The NAIAHF honors Indigenous sport cultures across 27 North American countries, recognizing outstanding leadership and athletic achievement. Through the celebration of annually inducted individuals and teams, the Hall of Fame seeks to inspire future generations to pursue their dreams in athletics and in life.

Lavergne and the 2026 NAIAHF inductee class will be formally recognized during an exclusive ceremony on Saturday, May 30, 2026, in Green Bay, Wis.
