MADISON, Wis. — The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) released its Kwik Trip Athletes of the Week for the week of Jan. 12-18, with
Jordan O'Kane representing UW-River Falls as the Women's Hockey Athlete of the Week.
O'Kane and the No. 1-ranked Falcons went 3-0 on the week, including a win over No. 8-ranked Gustavus Adolphus and a weekend sweep over UW-Superior. O'Kane made 38 saves with a 1.000 save percentage, shutting out Gustavus on Tuesday, Jan. 13 and UW-Superior on the road on Friday, Jan. 16 before playing 13 minutes in relief on Saturday, Jan. 17 to help sweep the Yellowjackets. O'Kane is tied for the WIAC-lead and ranks second in NCAA Division III with five shutouts on the season.
The award is the second of O'Kane career and UWRF's sixth WIAC Player of the Week award winner this season, following
Megan Goodreau (Nov. 3-9),
Sophia Hess (Nov. 24-30),
MaKenna Aure (Dec. 8-14 & Dec. 29-Jan. 4), and
Alexa Niccum (Jan. 5-11)
No. 1-ranked UWRF (16-1, 4-1 WIAC) travels to face Beloit College this weekend in Janesville, Wis.
