Rommeck Named WIAC Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week

MADISON, Wis. — The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) released its Kwik Trip Athletes of the Week for the week of Feb. 16-22, with Annelise Rommeck representing UW-River Falls as the Women's Lacrosse Defensive Athlete of the Week.

Against nationally ranked University of Chicago on the road on Feb. 21, Rommeck made 13 saves along with four ground balls. She played a key role in the Falcons' efficient transition game, as a team they successfully cleared 17-of-21 attempts.

The award is the first of Rommeck's career, and UWRF's second in a row this season as Rommeck follows Samantha Hayek - who received the WIAC Offensive Player of the Week award last week.

UWRF hosts Cornell College this Friday, Feb. 27 at Ramer Field for the 2026 home opener.
